Litecoin (LTC) on AltQuick

Litecoin is one of the earliest Bitcoin forks, launched by Charlie Lee in October 2011.

Lee forked Bitcoin Core for a lighter payment coin: Scrypt proof of work instead of SHA-256, 2.5-minute blocks instead of ten, and an 84 million supply cap — four times Bitcoin's, matching the four-times-faster blocks. The first client went out on GitHub on 7 October 2011. It is still the coin a lot of Bitcoiners used as their first altcoin, which is why LTC/BTC is a first-class pair here.
