Mazacoin (MAZA) on AltQuick
Mazacoin is a 2014 SHA-256 coin built for Oglala Lakota and other tribal economies.
Payu Harris launched Mazacoin (MAZA) in February 2014 as a sovereign settlement rail — tribal-member developed, meant to reduce reliance on federal banking rails. The Oglala Lakota story is more complicated than a press cycle: the coin was aimed at Pine Ridge and later at indigenous nations more broadly. A friend who had worked on AltQuick in the early days helped with development. We list MAZA because that purpose still needs a Bitcoin book.
